What You will Need
- Your modular blocks
- Wooden planks (not included)
- A rubber mallet (optional). A standard hammer can be used.
- Cardboard for the bottom (optional but recommended)
- Your printed calculator's Spec Sheet with all your project details.
- Good quality potting soil (recommended)
Step 1: Prepare the Ground
Pick a sunny spot with at least 6 hours of daily sun from May to September. Level the ground if possible so your blocks sit evenly. No need to remove the grass—that’s way too much work! Simply spread a layer of thick cardboard directly over the ground, slightly larger than your planned garden bed. Give the cardboard a quick soak to keep it in place while you assemble your bed.
Step 2: Assemble the Base
Assemble your modular blocks into the shape and size of your desired growing bed. Simply slide your planks into the blocks and ensure a snug fit.
Step 3: Drive in the Stakes
Once your growing bed is assembled, insert a stake into each block. Use a rubber mallet to gently drive the stakes into the ground until the base is stable and secure. The tool is designed to protect your stakes from damage and make it easy.
Step 4: Build Up the Tiers
If your project features multiple levels, the process remains the same. Nest a new set of blocks on top of the lower ones (just like Legos). Slide in your planks and continue until you reach your desired height. If your upper levels have different lengths, install the board supports included with the modular blocks to hold your planks in place.
Step 5: Fill and Plant!
Your structure is ready! All that’s left is to fill it with high-quality soil suited to the plants you wish to grow. Lightly pack the soil, and you're ready to go. Happy gardening!

For very higher growing beds, you can fill the bottom layer with leaves, and compost to improve drainage and reduce the amount of soil needed.
